At the Festive Board, he was made welcome into the Craft by all present. His Mentor, Bro. David Stockdale was at hand to answer to any query and explained the procedure. W Bro. Dave Rajiah, the Lodge Mentor, welcomed him into the Lodge in his toast to the Initiate and assured him that other members would support him throughout his Masonic career.

Visiting the Most Senior Past Master

On Thursday 5th January 2017 the Lodge Almoner, W Bro. John Chan visited our most senior Past Master of the Lodge, W Bro. Ernie John Mullett who is now a honorary member. W Bro. Ernie who is 91 years old, now lived in a care home called Wentworth Grange Nursing Home in Riding Mill near Corbridge in Northumberland. He moved there 11 months ago due to deterioration in health.

His wife, Joan who lived in an elderly people's home in Corbridge visit him once every 2 days by taxi. She said that Ernie despite of poor health, is happy, cheerful and enjoyed living there. All the staff and nurses have been very kind and helpful to him.

Ernie was curious about the status of St. Gabriel Lodge and was overjoyed to hear that some of the Brethren whom he knew when he was a subscribing member, are still enjoying Freemasonry. Finally he sent his fraternal greetings and every good wish to our Worshipful Master, Past Masters, Officers and Brethren of the Lodge.
