What a splendid and cracking evening on Friday 6th March 2020. We all had at St Gabriel Lodge, No 2995, Social Curry Night extravaganza. The buffet comprising of various Indian and other cuisines were delicious. The guests were entertained by the fabulous and best group in the Northeast East and beyond, Jamie Baldy Holly Bell, Kevin and Chris. Fantastic rendition of many of well known songs.
Through the generosity of the dinners, a sum of £500 was raised and £ 200 of that sum was donated to TLC. It was a very enjoyable and pleasant evening, attended by about 68 guests.
Our yearly event at Rumana Restaurant was attended by 58 diners on Wednesday 30th May 2018. As expected, it was an evening of succulent fine dining, fun and generosity. A sum of £500 was raised during the evening and will be donated to deserving charities. Another successful evening, well supported by friends and Brethren of the Lodge.
On Wednesday 10th January 2018, St. Gabriel Lodge started the New Year with a Double Initiation ceremny. The WM, Officers and Brethren of the Lodge welcomed their two new members, Bro. Stephen James Thomas and Bro. Mark Gardiner. The Ceremony was conducted skilfully by the Officers of the Lodge and the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro. Brian Denton PSGD who also welcomed two candidates on behalf of the Province. The Festive Board was full of banter and fun as always.

This year our Charity Event held at Byker Masonic Hall on 3rd November 2017 was another successful night of fun. It was attended by 85 dinners. The entertainment was provided by one of the best bands, Baldy Holly.
The feedback from most of the attendees was very complimentary and positive. A sum of £500 was raised for Masonic and other deserving charities. The generosity of the guests was very much appreciated. Amongst the charities which has benefitted from the funds raised in 2017 were Northumberland Masonic Charity Association, St. Oswald Hospice, the Northern Air Ambulance Service and Epilepsy North.
We look forward to our next Charity Event next year which will be held at the Rumana Restaurant.
After many months of waiting, finally our Brother Sean Hawdon was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason but this time in Sandyford Lodge No. 6934 . He was so eloquent in his answers and so competent in following the instructions from his conductor.
The ceremony was attended by well over 30 Brethren. Everyone appeared to have enjoyed the ceremony and had a splendid time at the Festive Board.
On the evening of 7th June 2017, WM Michael Povey and Brethren of the Lodge were so pleased to welcome Bro Dominic Stockdale as a member.
The Initiation Ceremony was conducted in a very relaxed manner and the rituals delivered skillfully by the WM and his officers.
At the Festive Board, Bro Dominic informed us that he has enjoyed the ceremony very much and looking forward to begin his journey in Freemasonry amongst a very supportive group of Brethren.

On Wednesday 5th April 2017, St. Gabriel Lodge was honoured to received a Provincial Visit headed by W Bro. Brian Denton PSGD, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master (APGM) and the Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge of Northumberland. There were at least 22 of 2016-17 Provincial Officers came along to support our APGM and the Lodge. Overall, there were at least 60 Brethren in attendance.
It was a second degree ceremony with Bro. Sean Hawdon being passed who answered his questions fluently and with great confidence. The WM, W Bro. Michael Povey PProvJGD conducted the whole second degree ceremony by himself with the SW delivered an excellent tools and charge. At the end of ceremony, W Bro. Denton commented that Bro. Sean's questions-and-answers was one the the best he ever witnessed as well as the WM performing the whole of his part was rarely to be seen nowsdays. To conclude, he presented W Bro. Povey the 2020 Festival collarette and congratulated the Lodge for reaching its target. 6 Brethren were also being presented with their 2020 Festival Jewels by W Bro. Dennis Frazer, the Lodge Charity Steward.
At the Festive Board, the APGM mentioned and reminded the Brethren the various events to be held in the Province for our Tercentenary Celebration and asked the Brethren to support as many of these events as they can. After his speech, the Provincal Junior Grand Warden, W Bro. Stephen Little proposed an excellent toast to the Lodge with his well researched history of the Lodge.
The Tyler's toast was proposed at around 11:15 p.m. which brought the very memorable and enjoyable evening to an end.
